how to: Sneakers + Skirts (or dresses)

Ok so this is a trend that I've taken a while to warm up to- In part because my sneaker collection is somewhat sad at the moment, and I'm not talking chuck taylors or vans or some other light trainer- I mean serious sneakers.

So having worn a crisp black 'suit' (wax finished jeans, a silk skirt & fitted dinner jacket) with my creative rec' trainers earlier in the week, this morning I rooted around my closet to see what I could come up with in terms of outfits in regards to the sneaker & skirt trend and hopefully get some looks together you think you might be able to try yourselves......

Here are some other great examples I have found:

Let me know how you feel about this trend... love it? hate it? on the fence?

    1. Thanks Mel, when I was pulling things out my closet I was a bit ho-hum about it all, but had heaps of fun (which is what fashion is all about right?!) and was super please with the results xx

  5. Great trainers, and you have a great figure in those ensembles! I am a 90s child, so have always loved the Grungey, 'take it or leave it' attitude of skirts and trainers!

    1. Thanks Biki! Yeah I have always loves jeans, a white T-shirt & a killer pair of heels, which I consider another 90s staple - the grungy vibe kicked up a notch with the dressier shoes... and I have come to realise skirts & sneakers is kind of its opposite but has that similar vibe of mixing the causal with more formal xx

  8. I've been doubtful of this trend as well but all the looks you have on display look great. I definitely like the look more on others that I do myself.

    1. Thanks Maggie, I'm definitely a convert - though we'll see how long it lasts before I revert back to my staple (more) casual outfit paired with statement heels...
